Kinky Art Café: a new gallery and dating site for the spectrum of sex-gender and sexuality
Tampere-based visual artist Namu Amore opened the Kinky Art Café community service in September. Members publish art, announce events and look for company. The service is aimed at people whose sex-gender or sexuality does not fit narrow moulds, and it is open to all adults, heterosexuals included.
Today's social platforms remove content that does not fit the US moral view of nudity, sex-gender or sexuality.
"I wanted to build a service that safeguards freedom of artistic expression and supports the communities of people across the spectrum of sex-gender and sexuality worldwide. I had been mulling over the idea for a long time, but the last straw was a meeting of porn-art illustrators held in Tampere in March 2026. I heard there that many artists avoid drawing characters with more than two knees, because by US standards such a picture can be read as bestiality porn, and so it cannot be published on the major social platforms," says Namu Amore.
On Kinky Art Café, kinky means all sex-gender and sexuality that does not fit mainstream norms, and art means all self-expression. Nudity, erotic content and porn involving adults are permitted when everyone involved has given their consent. According to Namu Amore, porn can be as significant an art form as any other.
"Tom of Finland's works were once dismissed as meaningless porn, yet they have always had an empowering effect on gay communities around the world. Since then, the works have been shown in museums of contemporary art and in galleries, and have appeared on postage stamps and home textiles. The notion of porn therefore varies with time and place, and at its best porn can defend human rights," says Namu Amore.
Members can currently publish pictures, event announcements and date invitations, send private and group messages, and set up their own discussion channels. Development is at an early stage, and new features are added actively. The site was developed in Finland, and its servers are run by a Finnish company.
Membership is paid. A two-week trial costs EUR 2.90. Prices are reduced until the end of 2026 (regular prices in brackets):
